2. A password box will pop up. Enter USER NAME (not your full e-mail address) and then enter your password.

 

3. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU USE lowercase WHEN TYPING IN YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD. THE PASSWORD BOX IS CASE SENSITIVE!

Setting up or modifying email accounts

 

 

 

1) By WEBMAIL. Each account comes with it's own HORDEMAIL WEB client. Which means you can access your email from ANYWHERE in the world! Simply point your browser to http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail/. 

2) For OUTLOOK and OUTLOOK EXPRESS users. Simple edit your POP3 E-Mail software to automatically retrieve your email. Simply configure your email software for a POP3 Email Account with the following information below:

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.YOURDOMAIN.xxx (replace .xxx with your extension)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.YOURDOMAIN.xxx

UserName: you@YOURDOMAIN.xxx
Password: (your password)

1. Simply open your web browser to swwn.net/webmail or http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail/

I can't send e-mail

Most of the time , this problem can be related to a configuration conflict in your email account settings (i.e., OUTLOOK, OUTLOOK EXPRESS).

 

1. Make sure that your full e-mail address is in the USER field in your login and your password is correct. If you are having continued problems, you may use the webmail feature to send and receive your mail. CLICK HERE for WEBMAIL.

 

I can't receive e-mail

 

1. Again, you may have a conflict within your email client software. If you use OUTLOOK, CLICK HERE.

Configuring FTP for websites

 

To connect to your website via FTP to upload/download files, you will need an FTP Client. Popular FTP Clients are CuteFTP and LeechFTP.

Your homepage should be named index.html or index.shtml. This is the page that will show when someone visits http://www.yoursite.com. Follow the instructions below to learn how to upload your file.

1.      Run your FTP client

2.      Click the connect button.

3.      Enter ftp.swwn.net as the server name.

4.      Use the user name and password provided in your welcome email in the username and password fields.

5.      Connect

6.      Open up the public_html directory.

7.      Delete the file in there called index.html

8.      Upload your index.html file and any other files you need to upload.

9.      Disconnect and close the FTP client.

Point your browser to http://www.yoursite.com and view your brand new website!

How do I move my address book from Netscape to Outlook Express?

1. Go into Outlook Express and click File | Import | Other Address Book.
2. Select the version Netscape Address Book you are using, and then click the Import button.
3. If you get a message saying, “The address book could not be found automatically, would you like to manually select the file.” Click Yes.
4. The address book may be located in the Netscape folder under profiles.
5. If you are unable to locate that file you will need to covert the Netscape address book to what’s called a .cvs file. To do this:
6. Go into Netscape Address Book
7. Click Tools | Export
8. Select a name and location for the address book file and save it as a Comma Separated (.csv) file.
9. Go back into Outlook Express and click File | Import
10. Select Text File (Comma Separated Value) then click the Import button.
11. Click Browse and locate the file you saved in Netscape Address Book.
12. Click Open and then click Next
13. You will then be ask to select a way in which to import those address, select your preferences. And click Finish.
14. This should import the addresses from Netscape Address Book into Outlook Express.
15. Click Tools Address Book in Outlook Express and confirm.
